Notice is hereby given that the City of San Buenaventura invites sealed proposals for Buenaventura Golf Course Rehabilitation and Improvements project in the City of San Buenaventura, California. Proposals will be received by email only at tgonsalves@cityofventura.ca.gov no later than 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024.

The City of San Buenaventura (Ventura) owns and leases the Buenaventura Golf Course property located in the Southeastern portion of the City. The property is located in an industrial area and is adjacent to the Santa Clara River. High river flows from large storm events starting in January 2023 flooded the unprotected golf course severely. These floods damaged the golf course and its buildings, leading to an immediate closure of the golf course. The golf course has remained closed since the initial closure.

The City is requesting proposals from qualified professional teams to identify flood risks and improvements to mitigate future flood damage, redesign of golf course as needed, analysis of the feasibility of reuse of existing infrastructure, analysis of increased revenue potential, and identification and evaluation of possible new features to the golf course to improve user experience and increase revenue.

The Consultant shall provide professional landscape architectural and engineering services for golf course rehabilitation improvements and flood protection. The Prime Consultant on the contract shall be a Golf Course Architect with the sub-consultants identified in Section 4.1. The selected Consultant shall design a 12-18 golf course with optimized flood hazard mitigations to protect it from at least a 25-year flood,  identify and design flood hazard mitigations to protect the buildings from a 100-year storm, identify and evaluate potential alternative golf facilities to increase potential revenue, and design a potential temporary short playable course integrated with the repair and mitigation work plan.

Funding sources for this project may include Federal funding sources. The successful firm will be required to comply with Federal procurement guidelines and environmental regulations.
